Describe with examples any two modifications of stem.

(i) Storage of food: Underground stems of potato, ginger, turmeric, store food.

(ii) As tendrils: Axillary buds are slender and spirally coiled to help the plant to climb. e.g. cucumber, pumpkin etc.
