Question

Given, initial velocity, u = 5ms-1

Final velocity, v = 0

Therefore, a = -10ms-2/

Height attained by stone, s = ?

Time take to attain height, t = ?

(i) Using the relation,

v2 - u2= 2as

s = v2– u2/2a

(0) – (5)2/2 x (-10) = 1.25m

(ii) Using the relation,

v = u + at

⇒ t = 5/10

⇒ t = 0.5s

Hence, option A is correct
