Brief introduction of Chapter 4 Animal Kingdom

In Chapter biological classification we have gone through various characteristics of the animal kingdom.

Aristotle is known as the father of Zoology i.e the study of animals.

In this chapter, we will be discussing in detail animal kingdom classification up to phylum and class level. We will get an insight into the structure, habitat, physiology and mode of reproduction of animals 

Kingdom Animalia has been divided into 11 different phyla Porifera phylum being the phylum of simplest non-chordates while phylum chordates include animals with complex body designs.

The animal kingdom has been divided into phylums based on various characteristics and features such as body organisation, no. of germ layers, notochord, type of digestive and circulatory system etc.
