Full form of NDA

The full form of NDA is National Defence Academy Examination. It is Conducted by UPSC. UPSC NDA is a national level examination which is conducted to recruit qualified candidates as officers of Indian Navy, Indian Army and Indian Air Force. UPSC conducts exam for other Sarkari recruitment like IAS, CDS, UPSC CMS, CAPF etc. NDA exam is conducted twice a year (April and September). The exam consists of written and SSB interviews. History

The National Defence Academy was founded in 1954. It is the first three-member academy in the world. The National Defence Academy has been training officers of the Indian Armed Forces since its inception. The National Defence Academy has produced some of the best officers of the Indian Armed Forces.

Initially, the National Defence Academy was located at Khadakwasla near Pune. In 1974, the National Defence Academy shifted to its present location in Pune. The National Defence Academy is an institution of national importance and has been accorded the status of "Institution of National Eminence" by the Government of India.

The National Defence Academy is a joint establishment institute of the Indian Armed Forces. The National Defence Academy was established in 1948 by the amalgamation of the Royal Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, and the Indian Naval Academy, Cochin. The National Defence Academy was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on 16 January 1950. The National Defence Academy is spread over an area of ??about 1250 acres. The National Defence Academy has a strength of about 700 cadets and a staff of about 300 officers. The National Defence Academy is affiliated to the University of Pune. The National Defence Academy has been awarded the prestigious 'A' grade by the Ministry of Defence of India.
