Full form of MRI

Magnetic Resonance Imaging is the full form of MRI. MRI is also known as NMRI (nuclear magnetic resonance imaging) or MRT (magnetic resonance imaging). MRI is a diagnostic imaging technique used in radiology to show more information about the internal structures of the body more clearly than X-rays. It can be used to create a representation of the anatomy and physiological functions of the body in both disease and health.

How does an MRI work?

Most magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners take the form of large tubes. When you lie down in an MRI scanner, the magnetic field causes the water molecules in your body to temporarily rearrange. These aligned atoms emit tiny signals when exposed to radio waves, which are then used to create cross-sectional MRI images that are analogous to slices cut through a loaf of bread.
