IBPS Full Form

IBPS is an autonomous body that has been working for years to develop and implement a world-class assessment and selection process for various organizations. IBPS stands for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. When it comes to IBPS PO full form, it stands for Bank Personnel Selection Probation Officers. The main objective of IBPS is to promote speed, accuracy, and confidentiality in all activities and achieve the same through academic knowledge.

History of IBPS

After the banks in India were nationalized in 1969, Indian banks had to expand their branches across the country to have a wider reach to their candidates. This event required more staff, but at the time recruitment was only through advertisements. This method was not the best and had many problems.

So, banks have requested the National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM) to create a selection process through which they can hire capable candidates. As a result, a small unit called Personnel Selection Services (PSS) was established to meet these needs. After a few years in 1984, PSS was converted into IBPSibps full form
