The full form of CET is Common Eligibility Test. This exam is taken in India to recruit candidates for many posts. This examination will help to recruit the staff in Indian railways, Central Government (group B and C (non-technical) )public sector banks at the non-gazetted posts.
The CET exam is conducted by the National Recruitment Agency (NRA), a national body. This acts as the central agency for recruiting purposes for the Government of India. The Union Cabinet the decision was taken to replace many selection or entrance exams and create the National Recruitment Agency, which was approved in the year 2020 and the first exam was conducted in the year 2021.
About the organizer of CET:
1. The National Recruitment Agency or NRA, was formed in 2020, with the headquarters situated in Delhi.
2. This authority acts as a central recruitment agency.
3. The government of India gave birth, and now they have the sole and whole authority to conduct the CET or Common Eligibility Test to select the employees in the establishments of the Union Government.
4. All the central public sector units and all the central autonomous bodies are included in all the establishments.
5. The National Recruitment Agency, the Ministry of Railways, RRB, the Ministry of Finance, and SSC have representatives for the facilitation.
6. Earlier to recruiting for all the posts under the Union Government such as Indian Railways, all the central public sector units, ministries, and many more, the examination will be held individually with their respective organizations. Moreover, most of these posts required similar kinds of qualifications in education.
7. The financial burden of paying the examination fees multiple times and travelling to appear in the exam causes a burden to attempt multiple exams.
8. The Common eligibility test replaced all these exams and saved the candidate's time and energy to focus on multiple exams and their multiple forms. However, to avoid this problem, the National Recruitment Agency was set up in 2020.
Exam pattern for CET:
The Common Eligibility Test is expected in four sections, each section will carry 50 questions and the exam duration is 2 hours. The following four sections are as follows -

Section-wise preparation tips for CET:
1. English Language -
This section will check the candidate's basic knowledge of verbal ability, grammar, and vocabulary. To improve their vocabulary, candidates are advised to read the editorial page of newspapers. Candidates have a strong hold on the grammatical rules to ace this section.
2. General Intelligence and Reasoning -
The most important section of the competitive exam, this section helps test a candidate's problem-solving ability. To excel in this section simply, practice through sample papers and mock tests. For the puzzle topic, candidates must be careful and pay more attention.
3. Awareness and General Knowledge -
This section contains general knowledge questions so candidates are advised to read the newspaper daily and stay aware of all the facts and current events.
4. Quantitative Aptitude -
This section checks the basic mathematical concepts of aptitude of candidates. Practice these questions more. Learn shortcut methods to solve problems. The arithmetic questions can be calculative.
Eligibility for the CET:
Though the final eligibility requirements, will state in the official notifications, and the following list of eligibility is by the proposal accepted -
1. Educational background of candidate -
There are three levels of CET exams will be offered by authority -
a. Secondary (Class 10)
b. Higher Secondary (Class 12)
c. Graduation
Candidates are respectively eligible for applying in these exams when they completed Class 10 and Class 12 and the graduation.
2. Minimum age of requirement -
The maximum age of a candidate varies, it depends upon the candidate for which post or position he or she is applying to. There will be age relaxations for students in categories following the Indian government standards.
3. The number of attempts -
There will be no restrictions for candidates to attempt the exam. A person can attempt as many times as she or he wants to attempt. This will be subject to the maximum age which permits the specific exam.
Few preparation tips and tricks which help to score well in the CET exam:
1. Go through the pattern and syllabus thoroughly -
The first step to prepare for any exam is to thoroughly review their pattern and syllabus, always follow this step. After doing this, it will help candidates to understand the important topics which cover every section of the exam and also helps to understand the overall structure of the exam.
2. Make a proper study plan or time table -
The candidates are advised to make a systematic study plan. Planning should be strategic from the beginning as this will help to devote equal time to each section and follow that plan diligently.
3. Purchase the right book and study material -
Buying the right book and study material is important as they play an important role in exam preparation. However, candidates are advised to choose books covering the whole syllabus and written in simple language.
4. Practice mock tests -
Solve or practice mock tests as much as candidates can, after completing the syllabus. This will help candidates to analyze where they stand in the competition and also can improve their problem-solving ability.
